History of Community Fiber Solutions

Community Fiber Solutions (CFS) was formed in 2010.  It is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Benton Ridge Telephone Company, which was formed way back in 1902.  CFS saw a gaping hole in high-speed internet/broadband offerings from incumbent providers in East Central and Northeast Indiana.  CFS designed a 100% fiber-to-the-premise system, which is headquartered in Portland, Indiana.  CFS wanted to be a different broadband provider than the large incumbent providers.  First of all, we wanted to offer a quality network with excellent reliability.  We also wanted to provide value to our customer base.  CFS wants to be partners with our customers to offer the best solutions to their communication and connectivity needs.  We are big enough to serve the largest customers in our footprint down to the household level.

CFS is proud of its long list of both residential, commercial, healthcare, educational, and industrial customers.  CFS continues to strive to provide excellent and reliable communication and connectivity to the eastern part of Indiana and western Ohio.  Along with our sister company WATCH Communications, we provide multiple avenues to access high-speed internet.  WATCH Communications provides wireless technologies to reach many of the areas not currently on our fiber network.  We look forward to partnering with future customers in solving their communication and connectivity needs.
